My story, never thought that this Veteran/Health Safety Instructor/Fire Fighter/EMT would be the one needing to be the one rescued and helped. On Monday July 27th at around 1000, as I was on my way to work from my annual medical appointment, I suffered a motorcycle accident on 495 South between route 50 and Gallows Road due to a tractor trailer and vehicle suddenly breaking from debris in the roadway. Back wheel locked and I flew off my bike. I woke up face up with 4 people asking me if I was okay. They helped me and stayed with me til EMS arrived as I turned over on my belly seeing my bike laying on the ground and as I was hurting on my left side of my body on my chest. I was transported by Fairfax County EMS to Fairfax Hospital in and out of consciousness. I am very thankful to the individuals which stopped to help me. In addition to them, I am thankful for the help and professionalism of the Fairfax County EMS Team which helped me. I would also like to thank the Fairfax Hospital Trauma Team for taking care of me during my recovery and four days in the hospital due to 5 broken ribs and broken scaphoid. More than anything, I am thankful to be alive having gotten another chance to live. Live life to the fullest. Enjoy every moment. Enjoy those moments with your loved ones.
